What is Green?

What’s the Green Deal with the word ‘Green’?

According to Wikipedia, the word green comes from the Old English verb grōwan (“to grow, turn green”).

These days, “green” can refer to a way of thinking and acting, individually, corporately or at the political level, that makes environmental factors a greater part of the decision-making process.

Specific terms such as certified organic, recyclable, carbon-neutral, Eco-certified, FSC-certified, etc, are used to more accurately describe specific benefits of products and processes.

Many agree that efforts toward greater sustainability and ‘green’ behaviour should be seen as a journey, not a destination. With that in mind, we hope you enjoy learning more as we continue to discover the real Green Deal together.
